Expenses

Here is a list of all the costs covered by your class expenses payment. This list covers most of the items I use to teach my classes. It is not a list of prices as they change constantly, it’s more a list to give you a sense of why I charge expenses and where the money goes.

Time
This is the biggest expense to you. I am paid a proportion of your fee by the school for the hours that I am actually teaching. I am not paid for:

Preparing and packing resources

Set up at the venue

Lunch break

Pack up at the venue

Unpacking, cleaning and care of resources

The costs above have to be covered by the expenses you pay.

Loss and damage
All resources wear out over time and have to be replaced. Factsheets need editing and correcting, learning resources updated and tools replacing. Loss can mean the couple of pencils that go AWOL at most classes or it could be a tool or cutting blade that means buying a completely new tool set. Sadly there is always the occasional theft, which always puts pressure on resources. I work out my loss and damage costs on an annual basis and use these to project a blanket cost for the following year, which I divide among the classes I teach.

Consumables and Non-consumables
